PMK Founder Extols New Age Limit for Alcohol Purchases

S. Ramadoss, the veteran leader of the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), has lauded the government's initiative to prohibit the sale of alcoholic beverages to individuals below the age of 21. This progressive step is seen as a crucial measure to safeguard the well-being of the youth and prevent the early onset of alcohol-related issues.
Ramadoss emphasized that restricting access to alcohol for those under 21 is vital in preventing addiction and its cascading negative effects on individuals, families, and society at large. He believes that by enforcing this age limit, the government is taking a responsible stance towards public health and future generations.
The PMK founder further stated that this policy aligns with the party's long-standing commitment to promoting a drug-free and healthy Tamil Nadu. He urged for strict implementation and monitoring of the new regulation to ensure its effectiveness in achieving its intended objectives of reducing alcohol abuse among young adults.
