Chennai: Sri Lankan Tamil Youth Loses Life in Hit-and-Run Following Koyambedu Altercation

A 19-year-old Sri Lankan Tamil national was tragically killed in a hit-and-run incident near Koyambedu in Chennai on Tuesday night. The victim, identified as Ranjan, was reportedly involved in an altercation earlier in the evening.
According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred after Ranjan was involved in a dispute with a group of individuals. Following the clash, he was allegedly run over by a vehicle while attempting to flee or in the immediate aftermath. Eyewitnesses alerted the authorities, and emergency services were dispatched to the scene.
The Koyambedu police swiftly initiated an investigation and have since apprehended three suspects in connection with the death. The motive behind the initial clash and the subsequent hit-and-run is still under investigation. Authorities are examining CCTV footage and gathering more information to piece together the events leading to the young man's untimely demise.
