Elderly Man Fatally Attacked in Chennai Over Bus Route Assistance Dispute

Chennai has been rocked by a tragic incident where a 75-year-old pedestrian was allegedly beaten to death by a man after he refused to read out a bus route for him. The elderly victim, identified as Velu, was reportedly on his way home when the accused, identified as Suresh, approached him for directions.
Eyewitness accounts suggest that Suresh became enraged when Velu, possibly due to poor eyesight or inability to read the sign, could not provide him with the requested information. The argument quickly turned physical, with Suresh allegedly assaulting Velu severely. Passersby who witnessed the brutal attack alerted the authorities.
Police arrived at the scene and found Velu with severe injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his wounds. Suresh was apprehended shortly after based on eyewitness descriptions and is currently in police custody.
