Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has stated that Himalayan Buddhism plays a crucial role in defining India's national identity. According to Khandu, the spiritual traditions and cultural practices associated with Buddhism in the Himalayan region are integral to the nation's heritage.
The Chief Minister elaborated that these ancient Buddhist teachings and practices contribute significantly to the sense of unity and shared identity among the people. He stressed that preserving this unique spiritual lineage is vital for maintaining the nation's cultural fabric and fostering a sense of belonging.
Khandu's remarks highlight the government's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the rich Buddhist heritage found in the Himalayan states. He believes that by supporting these traditions, India can further strengthen its diverse cultural landscape and national consciousness.
