Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister, D.K. Shivakumar, has leveled serious accusations against the central government, alleging that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is using Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) supply as a political tool. Shivakumar stated that the current distribution policies demonstrate a clear neglect of the Southern Indian states, causing inconvenience to the populace in these regions.
Addressing the issue, Shivakumar suggested that the allocation of LPG cylinders appears to be influenced by political considerations rather than equitable distribution needs. He emphasized that Southern India, despite its significant population and demand, is not receiving its due share, which he termed as a deliberate act of discrimination by the ruling party at the center. This, he argued, directly impacts the daily lives and economic well-being of citizens.
The Congress leader's remarks highlight a growing concern among opposition parties regarding regional disparities in resource allocation. Shivakumar urged the central government to reconsider its approach and ensure a fair and unbiased distribution of essential commodities like LPG, emphasizing that governance should not be driven by partisan politics but by the welfare of all citizens across the country.
